F&M Bank Supports WakeMed's Whole-Person Health Campus

Salisbury, NC, April 18, 2024 – We’re proud to announce our support for WakeMed’s comprehensive whole-person health campus that addresses the diverse medical and mental health needs of our community.

In 2023, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services approved WakeMed's certificate-of-need (CON) applications for a 45-bed acute care hospital and a 150-bed mental health hospital.

“By building our mental health and well-being hospital and our acute care hospital on the same campus, we further our mission of whole-person health care — addressing our community’s medical needs, mental health needs, and even our patients’ personal challenges that present barriers to achieving optimal health and wellness,” says Donald Gintzig, WakeMed President & CEO. “Our patients need and deserve high-quality, accessible, value-based care and services delivered with compassion, expertise and efficiency. Our new, integrated campus will help us improve health and serve as a model of care for health systems like WakeMed that seek innovative ways to deliver their mission for all.”

On March 25th, F&M Bank presented WakeMed Foundation with $10,000 in support of the Behavioral and Mental Health Program. Additionally, Brooks Splawn, F&M Bank’s Raleigh Office Relationship Banking Manager, will lend his expertise to WakeMed's Finance Committee throughout 2024.

“We’re invested in the well-being of our neighbors,” said Steve Fisher, Chairman & CEO of F&M Bank. “We have a tradition of actively participating in the communities we serve to make them better places to live and work, and we’re honored to support WakeMed’s Whole-Person Health Campus.”
