Information F&M Discloses To Others

F&M does not disclose any private personal or financial information about our customers or former customers to anyone (including our affiliate companies ) unless it is with the consent or at the direction of our customers or otherwise permitted by law. In order to administer our business, we may use outside companies to assist us in processing your transactions, maintaining and servicing your accounts or providing other services. F&M is highly selective in choosing those service providers to ensure that they meet our strict confidentiality and service quality standards. We are permitted by law to disclose any of the private personal and financial information listed above to these outside companies for the purpose of providing services to our business. Such services include check imprinting, data processing support, marketing efforts and legal support.

We may also enter into joint marketing agreements with other companies or financial institutions to offer you a wider variety of financial products and services. Again, we are permitted by law to disclose any information we collect to these outside companies or financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements. These types of agreements assist us in providing products such as credit cards and various investment opportunities. When we do disclose this information, the outside company's right to use or re-disclose the information we provide is limited by law and/or contract to ensure that your privacy is protected.

In accordance with standard banking industry practice and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we may disclose information we collect to reputable information reporting agencies. We are also permitted or required to disclose information by a variety of federal and state laws, such as in response to a subpoena or to protect against fraud. Other than as described above, we do not disclose your private personal or financial information without your consent or direction.

F&M Security Standards

We are committed to the security of your private personal and financial information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need that information to provide you with products and services. All F&M employees are governed by a code of business conduct that includes a responsibility to protect the confidentiality of the customers' financial and other personal information. We emphasize this confidentiality obligation in our training and procedures while maintaining appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce our employees' privacy responsibilities. In addition, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to prevent unauthorized access to your information. These safeguards apply to any medical information (past or present physical health or condition) that you may provide as well as all other private personal or financial information.
